How to Register Your Boat or Home for the for the 2017 Christmas Boat Parade and Ring of Lights

ENTER YOUR BOAT FOR THE PARADE!

The Newport Beach Christmas Boat Parade, made possible by Presenting Sponsors Simple Green and Meguiar’s, with support from Community Sponsors The City of Newport Beach and Visit Newport Beach, Inc. will be celebrating its 109th year. Newport Beach was heralded as ‘The #2 Best Destination in the Country for Holiday Lights” by Yahoo! Travel and one of the “Top Holiday Events in the Nation” by The New York Times, the parade will feature boats of all sizes bedecked with brilliant holiday lights and decorations lighting up Newport Harbor and welcoming the holiday season.

Registering your boat not only makes you officially part of the parade, but automatically enters you into the competition for some great awards.

  • Best Use of Lights (1st – 3rd )

  • Most Entries from a Yacht Club

All registered boats will be positioned between the Lead Boat and the Santa Boat.

Registered Boaters Receive:

  • Commemorative 2017 Parade Burgee and Plaque
  • Complimentary 60-day Sea Tow Membership
  • Simple Green V.I.P. Cleaning Kit
    (Distributed at skippers meeting while supplies last)
  • Name and Boat Listed on the Christmas Boat Parade Website
  • Name and Boat Mentioned During Broadcast on Newport Beach TV

All winners of the parade will receive a banner to display on their boat to indicate their status as the “best of the bunch.” Additionally, winners will receive two complementary tickets to the Newport Beach Christmas Boat Parade Awards Dinner and Auction to be held in January 2018.

Entry fee is $35.


2017 Skippers Meeting

Boat participants are requested to attend a pre-parade meeting to review logistics, receive registration numbers, and address any questions about the parade.

The 2017 Skippers Meeting takes place on December 6, 2017 at 6pm at Newport Dunes.

ENTER YOUR HOME FOR THE RING OF LIGHTS!

In addition to the beautiful boats sailing through the harbor, all waterfront homes, businesses and yacht clubs are encouraged to participate in the “Ring of Lights.” In past years, many homes, businesses and yacht clubs have gone to great extents to decorate their properties and add to the festive feel of the boat parade.

Hosted by the Commodores Club of the Newport Beach Chamber of Commerce, all homes, businesses, and yacht clubs lining the harbor are invited to enter. With its own judged categories and prizes awarded, the Ring of Lights has become as celebrated as the boat parade itself. Additionally, winners will receive two complementary tickets to the Newport Beach Christmas Boat Parade Awards Dinner & Auction to be held in January 2018.

Boat Launching and Guest Slips

The Newport Dunes Resort is Orange County’s premier boat launch facility, featuring a seven lane boat launch ramp at the north end of the resort, located next to the Back Bay Bistro. If you can’t – or don’t – want to launch the boat yourself, allow our expert staff to lessen the stress of launch and recovery.
