Welcome to the 113th Newport Beach Christmas Boat Parade!

Join us as we celebreate the 113th anniversary of the Newport Beach Christmas Boat Parade. Hailed by The New York Times as one of the nation’s top 10 holiday happenings, the Newport Beach Christmas Boat Parade has also earned the city a ranking of No. 2 in the nation for holiday lights by Yahoo! Travel.

The festivities begin at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 15, at the southern end of Lido Isle. The festivities will run the following four nights, ending on Sunday, Dec. 19.

Parade participants will follow the same celebrated route as in the past. The city’s newest bayfront park, Marina Park, offers the largest public viewing area along the parade route, creating an optimal location to enjoy the festivities. We have also highlighted several locations around the harbor, so visitors will get the best view and find the easiest places to park around town.

Newport Beach is Southern California’s holiday headquarters. The parade organizers plan to work with boaters, homeowners and harbor front businesses through recommendations and messaging to plan for a safe experience both on the water and on the shore. To ensure a safe visit please follow Orange County and State guidelines regarding physical distancing, wearing masks, etc.

The Newport Beach Christmas Boat Parade is hosted by the Commodores Club of the Newport Beach Chamber of Commerce—a dedicated group of members who provide support for the chamber’s special events. We would like to thank our presenting sponsors, Simple Green and Davey’s Locker as well as our community sponsors, the city of Newport Beach and Visit Newport Beach, Inc.

Planning and preparation for this community spectacular is a year-round undertaking. Organized in partnership with Newport Beach & Co., participants and volunteers, thousands of hours are spent arranging the parade components.

Participating in the Christmas Boat Parade and Ring of Lights is a labor of love. Aside from the time decorating their boats, parade participants spend five nights navigating the parade route for the enjoyment of residents and visitors. In addition, homes in the Ring of Lights contest serve as a colorful backdrop, surrounding the harbor to the delight of those both on and off the water. It is a monumental task and every boat and home participant deserves to be congratulated.

With a significant positive financial impact on the city measured in the millions of dollars, especially to its restaurants, hotels and charters in terms of tourism, hospitality and business during the holiday season, the Newport Beach Christmas Boat Parade and Ring of Lights continue to be a highlight of the aspirational Newport Beach lifestyle.

A special Christmas Boat Parade Awards event will be held to celebrate all of the winners of the Boat Parade and Ring of Lights, and a special online auction will be held to help raise funds for next year’s parade.
