The Newport Beach Christmas Boat Parade, made possible by Presenting Sponsors Simple Green, Traditional Jewelers and Meguiar's will be celebrating its 101st year. Heralded as “one of the top holiday events in the nation” by the New York Times, the parade will feature boats of all sizes bedecked with brilliant holiday lights and decorations, lighting up Newport Harbor and welcoming the holiday season. The parade will also feature a new theme this year, “The Joys of Christmas Toys.”
Registering your boat not only makes you officially part of the parade, but automatically enters you into the competition for some great awards. All registered boats will be positioned between the Lead Boat and the Ending Boat. All winners of the parade will receive a banner to display on their boat to indicate their status as the “best of the bunch”.
Additionally, winners will receive two complementary tickets to the Newport Beach Christmas Boat Parade Awards Dinner & Auction to be held in January 22, 2010.

In addition to the beautiful boats sailing through the harbor, all waterfront homes, businesses and yacht clubs are encouraged to participate in the “Ring of Lights.” In past years, many homes, businesses and yacht clubs have gone to great extents to decorate their properties and add to the festive feel of the boat parade. Hosted by the Commodores Club of the Newport Beach Chamber of Commerce, all homes, businesses, and yacht clubs lining the harbor are invited to enter. With its own judged categories and prizes awarded, the Ring of Lights has become as celebrated as the boat parade itself.
